Westway Health Animal Health

A pressing concern of regulators and public health organisations is the widespread use of antibiotics in the animal health space. In the US, approximately 80% of all antibiotic use is in animal health. This is thought to act as a reservoir for the development and emergence of antibiotic resistance. By providing a non-antibiotic therapy, Westway Health can provide an alternative solution to infectious diseases in animal health, easing the pressure on existing medicines used in human health.

In addition to the Mastitis programme, Westway Health has a number of programmes at preclinical stage against a number of important animal health diseases.
